Medium voltage systems

Areas of application for medium voltage are those in which electricity with voltages of 10 kV, 20 kV or 35 kV is transmitted and distributed. Medium voltage is used for public electrification, industrial consumers and other large electricity consumers. Medium voltage can also be used in direct current networks used to connect renewable energy sources, energy storage and electric vehicles. In order to interrupt the power in medium-voltage networks, special switches are required that can withstand high voltage and current surges.
